  5. Rivers Big Band & Philippe Crettien Quartet with Rivers Honor Band

    The award-winning Rivers School Big Band and the Rivers Honors Big Band will both perform, followed by a set by the Quartet. When they last performed here, the Big Band was opening, but they wowed the audience such that their band leader, Philippe Crettien, decided to give them top billing! How often do you get to hear a genuine 40s style Big Band?! Be ready to smile from beginning to end with the joy of so much power! Philippe Crettien Quartet features Philippe Crettien tenor saxophone, Patrick Mottaz, guitar, Sean Farias, bass, Mike Connors drums. Crettien has recorded three CD’s as a leader and was artistic director of the Toulon International jazz festival and director of the Toulon Jazz festival workshops 1991-2000. Currently, jazz band director at The Rivers School in Weston MA, and Jazz chair at The Rivers School Conservatory.

Some of the best jazz can be heard here any Tuesday night! Come watch or play!! About the Jam: The jam balances high level playing with a spirit of welcome and community. Five host bands take turns making your visit to the jam a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Each week a different group and each week a different feel.     The City of Framingham is updating the 2020 Open Space & Recreation Plan and will solicit input from the community throughout the process. The Open Space & Recreation Plan is a guide help protect, manage, improve, and expand Framingham’s open space and recreation resources in the face of continuing development pressures. The Plan takes inventory of existing amenities and sets goals for increasing and improving these amenities. A Public Visioning Workshop will be held on May 22, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at the Main Library, Costin Room (Lexington Street). Come learn about the Open Space & Recreation Plan and provide valuable input on current amenities – or lack thereof – and the future of our open space and recreational gems. Whether you can or cannot attend the Public Visioning Workshop, the City is also gathering input through a public survey.
