Downtown

Downtown Framingham provides a dense urban experience with cultural amenities and direct access to public transportation including frequent commuter rail service to Boston and Worcester. Downtown Framingham offers cultural amenities such as the Amazing Things Arts Center along with a mix of ethnic restaurants and specialty stores. Stop by one of our great bakeries for a cup of strong Brazilian coffee on your way to the commuter rail, or catch a show at Amazing Things. Our downtown is anchored by the Memorial Building, which serves as the city's primary government office and just down the street is a full-service federal Social Security office.

Framingham Centre

Framingham Centre is Framingham’s historic area and home to Framingham State University. The old Framingham Green at the intersection of Worcester Road (Route 9), the original highway linking Boston to Worcester, and Edgell Road, one of Framingham's critical north-south routes, marks the center of this community. Surrounded by historic buildings, this was the town's civic center until the new town hall was built in 1928 in Downtown Framingham. Most notably, in addition to being the home of Framingham State University, the Centre is the home the Framingham History Center and Danforth Art, and the Framingham Technology Park, where many of Framingham's larger corporations are located.

Nobscot

Nobscot is in the heart of northwest Framingham. While generally suburban in character, the center of this community is Nobscot Village, the area's commercial core at the intersection of Edgell Road and Water Street. But Nobscot is so much more! With serene farms to the west, the imposing height of the wooded Nobscot Hill to the north, and the verdant pathways of the renowned Garden in the Woods to the east, Nobscot is a place of natural beauty and community.

Saxonville

Saxonville is a thriving residential, commercial, and artistic community. Centered around the old Saxonville Mill Complex on the banks of the Sudbury River, the Village of Saxonville is listed as an historic district on the National Historic Register. With many 19th century historic wooden homes characterized by their mansard roofs, this tight-knit, walkable community is nonetheless conveniently close to shopping and transportation options.
