The Framingham Economic Development and Industrial Corporation (EDIC) has committed to spending up to $10,000 in matching gift card funds to assist local Framingham businesses remain viable, during and after the current COVID-19 pandemic. When a gift card is purchased by a member of the community, at a participating Framingham business between May 1 and May 16, 2021, the EDIC will match, dollar for dollar, up to $250 per business, as long as matching funds last. This opportunity is open to all locally-owned, for-profit retail, restaurant and service-based businesses, including local franchisees and local licensees, physically located in Framingham, with annual sales less than $2,000,000.
Businesses must apply to participate by Friday, April 9, 2021 at 5:00PM EST. Decisions will be made on a first-come, first-serve basis. Gift cards will be purchased by customers between Saturday, May 1 and Sunday, May 16, 2021. The program will be administered by the EDIC staff.
For the purposes of this gift card matching program, the following will apply:
Retail: clothing and apparel stores; gift and book shops; home furnishing and art stores; coffee and pastry shops; deli and sandwich shops; jewelry stores; and more.
Restaurants: full-service bar or restaurant
Service-Based: barbers, salons, nail service, tour companies, pet stores, tailors, health and fitness businesses; and more.
